Behenamide adds anti-blocking properties to polymers processed at temperatures above 105°C. Given its limited slip properties, it can be used in combination with erucamide. Besides in films, behenamide can be used in caps and closures as a torque release agent. It is a vegetable based primary amide and is widely approved for use in food contact materials
